A Trillion Ways To Generate Traffic Easily
Okay, I lied.
This article does not contain a Trillion ways to generate traffic.
It seems like the word Trillion has lost it’s value lately, people toss the word trillion around like they did billion when I was a kid.
Anyhow, I checked with my web host, and they said there’s no way my hosting covered that much data so I scrapped the idea.
I basically decided it would have to be a limited number of ways to generate traffic. Oh, and the easily part.. I might have exaggerated there too.
But here’s the fun part. The purpose of this post is to get site visitors to comment with their best traffic tips. I’ll start off with the basics and you add your traffic generation ideas too. I’ll also keep adding new traffic ideas in the comments section

The Most Popular Ways to Generate Traffic.
Article Writing – Write keyword targeted articles and submit them to article sites with a link back to your site.
Blog Comments - Comment on blogs (like this one) and enter your link in the url field.
Forum Signatures – Join forums related to your niche and create a signature file with keyword targeted links.
Social Media Sites – Create profiles and stay active on sites like Facebook, Twitter Etc.
Email Signatures – Add your url to your email signatures.
Use Keyword Optimized Titles - Make sure your titles use strong keywords and are compelling.
Keyword Research – Use the Google keyword tool and look for high search volume keywords phrases with low competition. Incorporate those keywords in your articles.
Optimize Your Site – Make your site XHTML compliant and add it to Google Webmaster Tools and get a sitemap (makes the search engines like you)
Those are some basic tips.

Comment on Twitterpics, especially those with a large following. Most do respond to comments which then puts your Twitter ID in THEIR timeline which is often very different to your own.
May not get ‘trillions’, but the odd few here and there is always handy

Great information to know! i have been using these techniques and have gotten some results.
Why do you make your links nofollow?
Because that is the most common setting/default option for Wordpress blogs.. and to prevent spammers from overwhelming the blog with junk posts.
However, I’m looking into a plugin that gives incentives to good posters, such as removing the nofollow on those comments.

Script Templates – Design a template for a web script (ie. wordpress, drupal, phpbb, etc) that includes a link to your site in the footer. If the theme is good, people will use it and all the pages on their site will have a link to your site.

I think that human contact is the key missing element, especially for people who are providing coaching and teaching services. I find that reaching out to people with direct e-mail messages, telephone calls (I know, it’s ancient), and live interactive workshops really engages them and offers a quality experience that they want to pursue…and pay for
