While I’m not a newbie, there are plenty of things I still need to learn and quite a few things I’ve forgotten over the years.

Like an idiot I never bothered to setup my Competitive Ad Filter in my Adsense account.
One of my site’s primary keywords has multiple meanings, and therefore it generates adsense units for companies with no relation to my site. So it was a prime candidate for the Google’s Competitive Ad Filter.
So I loaded the Adsense Preview Tool.
And very quickly I found about six ads I wanted to filter.. So I loaded the urls in my Adsense account.. A few hours later, I went back and found six more ads… and I ended up filtering 25 urls for this one domain.
What happened today? My Adsense revenue for that site doubled.
Now I realize this is going to be a continual process, as new companies take out ads for the same keywords.. But it’s definitely worth it.
One good tip, one optimization trick can be the secret to increasing your income every single day. You’ve just got to do it.
