Hi Dan,
I bought your templates the other day- they look great and am going through your boot camp now. I know you are a fan of Thesis and as a newbie I had a question about themes. Lets see if I can be clear…
If you want to have landing pages, squeeze pages, sales pages, articles, blog, etc all on one site can you do that with Thesis? I notice when I click on your bootcamp sales page its still the same url but I dont see the Thesis theme at the bottom of the page (Is this still part of Thesis?). When I go your template sales page its on a different url- is that Thesis?
Just trying to get a conceptual understanding of the functionality of themes and how to structure a WP site?
thanks:)
frank
The Bootcamp sales page is a standalone page in a different directory.
Although you can use Wordpress (and any theme) to create landing pages and salespages, sometimes it’s easier to just use a static html page.
As an example of using Wordpress/Thesis as a salespage check out http://www.twitterpower.com on this site the main page looks like a salespage, but I actually created it using a plugin called “Embed it” and the no-sidebar page template function of thesis
Hey Dan,
Cool look on these VSqueezes……The wide screen opt in gave me the concept for a new series of pages we had been grinding on for a couple of months……
And I went back to Bootcamp Week 17 just to watch you rollout the product in 10 minutes…… Good stuff
Regarding templates, can you direct me to any solid WP multi-product ecommerce templates? We built one but it is not very stable.
Thanks……>>Rod
Check out Affiliate Theme, and review this link.. and the links in comments.

I was looking at affiliate theme; also semiologic, flexibility, flexx by itheme, thesis and super affiliate blogger which has 6 unique templates for landing page, blog, sales, exit, links and 404 cash page. Have you tried these? Any preference?
Thanks.
I just checked out superaffiliateblogger.. looks like a nice package. not necessarily for multi-products but for niche products. Personally, I like thesis and there’s a growing community coming up with cool hooks all the time.
The new openhook plugin for thesis is sweet too.
Have checked out Affiliate Theme and Thesis, which Yaro is plugging……but did not see anything that worked ……Will check out Semilogic et al. when the sun comes up…….Did not pickup the et al.’s in my SERPs……..will go shake my keyword tool and see what falls out…….Thx…….
Hmm. A newbie question. A hook is what is used to make a plugin work? So not all plugins will work with Thesis until more hooks are created?
Thanks:)
Basically yes… but I haven’t found a plugin yet that won’t work with thesis… All the major plugins are seamless.. no hooks needed. A lot of plugins just use sidebar/widget functionality anyway… I’ve only come across one plugin I wanted to use that I needed a hook for… and I ended up not using it anyway.
I just bought the video squeeze page package which looks great. Are there any tutorials on modifying the templates or for adding my own flash videos that I host from AmazonS3 instead of YouTube, etc.?
Thanks,
Dan
I’m going to have tutorial videos up by Saturday at the latest. There’s already a Flash help file, and the videos are commented out, but I’m going to improve on it. As long as you have the embed code for your S3 files it’s really no different than YouTube. Just embed the code in the video section.
I bought these templates just a couple of days ago, and I can see what major time savers they are. Often, I fail to take action, by getting stuck in hours of frustration around one misplaced tag or html code. These templates will help me take action sooner and more effectively. And, I am already learning from the great video bonuses. Thanks for a good and fairly priced product.
About 3 weeks ago you said that you would have some tutorial videos up soon. The templates are great, but I could definitely use some tutorial videos to help me use them. Can you tell me where to find them?
Thanks,
Dan
Yes, they’ve been up for about 3 weeks, they are right on the download page, right hand side. If you need the link again let me know.
Yes, I need the link because the Clickbank link seems to have “timed out.” You can send it to my email address which I assume you have.
Thanks so much,
Dan

Dan,
I have a question concerning Video #2. I was not sure where to enter my question, so I came back here. Please advise where to place questions so I will know in the future.
My question is, in video #2 where you showed how to set up WordPress, you mentioned that you wanted to create your Blog in its own domain and/or sub-directory. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to doing so? I’m going back and creating my blog now rather than placing it on WordPress’s site.
Thanks in advance.
The contact form is the best place to submit questions but this is fine as well. While there are benefits to creating sites on wordpress and blogger for SEO, when it comes to branding and building an online business you really need to have your own domain. As far as placing Wordpress in main directory or sub directory.. it depends on what kind of site you’re creating. But the main directory will be right choice in 90% of situations.
