What’s The Best Shopping Cart Software?

Seeing as a lot of my readers are Internet Marketing newbies I thought this would make a great blog post.   So many of them want to start an online store to sell their stuff, but they have no idea where to begin.

And to be perfectly honest, I wanted to write this post because I’m looking for feedback and comments to help us determine the best shopping cart software.

I launched my first shopping site for a friend in 1998 and to be honest, I can’t even remember what I used for software.   I switched it to OSCommerce a few years later and have done very little with it since.  One of the reasons why I’m writing this post, is because they want to do a much needed overhaul of their site (Flagstore.com) and I’m looking for recommendations for them.

In fact, if any Shopping Cart software owners are looking for a perfect showcase site, the Flagstore.com domain could be it.  (hint, hint)

Over the years I’ve used 1ShoppingCart.com, GoldBarOne, Infusionsoft and Magento and they all have their good qualities.

Of course there are other great services like Yahoo Small Business Merchant Solutions.

I could keep rambling on about all the different ecommerce platforms and shopping cart systems, but it all boils down to one thing.

Confusion.

The average newbie has no idea…

  • where to start
  • how much they should be paying
  • how to get a merchant account
  • if they need to a hosted or self-hosted solution
  • how to get up and running quickly and affordably

And to be honest, I don’t know what to tell them.

If they want a self-hosted solution I usually tell them to start by playing around with the free shopping cart software that comes with Cpanel’s fantastico, and see if that suits there needs.  Or I tell them to use 1ShoppingCart.com for a quick to setup hosted solution.

CheckCB iPhone App – Check your Clickbank Stats

I love Clickbank and frequently check my Clickbank stats when I’m not online by loading up my Gmail account to view new sales.

Now there a few Clickbank iPhone apps which let you do this already, but as an iPhone developer I wanted to create one that was suited to my needs.

And I didn’t think it was necessary to charge for the app.  One of the CB apps is $9.99

After all, how valuable is to attract the daily eyeballs of active Clickbank affiliates?

So I’d been suggestng to Joel Comm that we create one and he finally agreed.

The result is the CheckCB App.

It lets you view unlimited Clickbank accounts, and see your daily, weekly, paycheck, and transactional data going back 15 days.

It’s simple to setup and use, and best of all it’s free.

If you’re a Clickbank affiliate or merchant with an iPhone or iPod Touch you’re going to love CheckCB.

And we hope to have ad packages in the near future if you’re interested in advertising your Clickbank product to our users.

By the way, the demo screenshots in iTunes and this post are from my NBReport Clickbank account (Newbie Report)

Should I Create A Private Coaching Program?

Okay, I’ve been getting more and more emails lately asking me if I do Private Coaching.

If you’ve seen me on stage, bought my Bootcamp or purchased The Elevate Blueprint you’ve got a good idea of the way I teach.

As VP of Ideas for Joel Comm, my forte is in Brainstorming, Ideation and Product Creation.

I have an innate ability to come up with product and business ideas for people within seconds of learning more about them.

And the fact that I’ve personally created and launched countless products, programs, and websites over the last 15 years is a plus.

Which means not only can I coach you on how to do something, but I could also apply some consulting time to actually helping you complete a project.

Now to be honest.

Joel’s been urging me to start speaking more, and if so, I will most likely be pitching a high-end coaching program..

So I ask my loyal followers..

  • Are you interested?
  • What kind of coaching, consulting would most interest you?
  • And what do you think you would be willing to pay?

Needless to say if this post doesn’t get many comments, I’ll probably pull it down quickly…  : )
