How To Make Money Promoting My Blog

About a month ago one of my readers asked me if he could link to one of my blog posts, and at the same time embed his affiliate ID for my 22 Day IM Bootcamp.

I told him it could be done, and in fact, that’s how Newbie Report started.

It was a just link page (ala DrudgeReport) filled with valuable IM links and random Clickbank products.  Anyone could promote using their Clickbank ID and earn commissions if their referrals made a purchase.

Well today, my popular 22 Day Internet Marketing Bootcamp which I’ve been selling via PayPal, was approved by Clickbank.

And I decided to take this idea to the next level.

I now have 4 Clickbank products in the marketplace and I’m actually promoting 3 of them on this site right now.

I’ve set each outbound link for these products to a special redirect page, and I’ve included PHP code in my WordPress header file that sets a Clickbank cookie.

What this means is that anyone with a Clickbank ID can link to any post on my blog, and potentially earn a commission on the sale of my products.

For example, if you wanted to link to my last post Simple Way To Protect A Download Page you would link to it like this;

http://www.newbiereport.com/simple-way-to-protect-a-download-page/?cb=YourClickbankID

If you wanted to link to the main page you would use:

http://www.newbiereport.com/?cb=YourClickbankID

Just replace YourClickbankID with your Clickbank ID.

This sets a cookie on my site and if any visitor buys one of my products, you’ll be the affiliate and earn a commission.

So next time you like one of my posts, you can Tweet it, or blog about it… and potentially make some money.

In fact, from now on.. whenever I review a Clickbank product, I’ll use the same setup.

Pretty cool, don’t you think?

Did You Just Lose Your Job?

There’s no doubt that these are troubling economic times.

Unemployment figures continue to rise and each day 1000′s of people are turning to the internet as a way to make extra money.

I get emails every day from people who just lost their job and they want to magically supplement a full-time income with a website, even though they have no experience making money online.

These same people are bombarded by false gurus who make outrageous claims and salespages that promises them instant riches.

Now back to the point of this post..  And forgive me because I’m a realist.

I really want to talk directly to someone whose just lost their job and thinks they can make a full-time living online.

Here’s my personal letter to a fictional person named Bill.

SIMPO – The Way Of The Visitor

I just got done an hour long P90X workout that revolved around Kenpo Karate.   It was a bit easier for me than other P90X workouts because I studied Kenpo for a few years.

Kenpo is also known as “the way of the fist”, because practitioners of Kenpo needed only their fists, and not weapons to fight.

When I was practicing Kenpo I always visualized an opponent in front of me.   It enabled me to have much better form and advance much more quickly.

As I was winding down my P90X workout tonight, I realized that this is a Big Secret to Internet Marketing success, but so many newbies don’t do it.

You don’t visualize a Visitor on your site, you just throw a bunch of stuff on your site and hope for the best.

So I just created a new Internet Marketing style -

SIMPO – The Way Of The Visitor

Or….

Simple Internet Marketing Philosophy and Objectives

Or..

Keep it Simpo Stupid

Let’s face it.   Most website owners forget the absolute most critical element to their website.

What do they want their visitors to do?

You need to imagine all the different types of visitors who are hitting your site, and drive them to the path that benefits them, and you… the most.

Forget the fancy graphics, forget the super long articles, forget the 2 dozen ads you’ve got all over your site.

Drive them to take one action, and visualize how your visitors view your site and content.

Are they going to be blown away by the value of your content?   Or are they leaving in 2 seconds because your site is confusing and unfocused.

The more you think like a visitor, and less like someone whose trying to make $.030 on an Adsense click, the more success you will have.

Next time you’re working on your site think about SIMPO.    How can you make your site more user-friendly and drive your visitors to take the action you want them to take..?

By the way, you can get your first SIMPO Belt when you complete my 22 Day Bootcamp! Shipping not included.
