Socrates looks like a hit! With so many options to customize, no one need worry that their wordpress website will look like a clone. It seems to me that distinction and unique design help to inspire confidence in a website’s visitor….if someone has spent time designing a website, then, more likely, they have spent time making their product worthy of purchase. Socrates seems to be a welcome turn key solution for those of us who reluctantly use off the shelve blog designs. And, with the great navigation options, Socrates has the makings of a more than basic CMS. Well done! I eagerly look forward to Socrates 2.0

The Socrates theme looks pretty cool and easy. Do you recommend it over Thesis? I noticed this blog is still using Thesis…
I have the Thesis multiple site license and am in process of building a couple sites with it. How do they compare, and how’s the SEO with Socrates compared to Thesis?

Jim, I’m actually on vacation this weekend, but plan on switching over this week. I’ve been a huge advocate of Thesis, but I’ve always wanted a theme that offered an easier way to add design elements like headers backgrounds etc. And I knew that newbies can be overwhelmed trying to customize Thesis.
So in my opinion, Socrates is easier to setup and easier to style… Thesis rocks for advanced users, but Socrates is better for newbies and beginners.
The question of SEO is highly relative. If you maximize Thesis’s SEO features it is better for SEO than Socrates.. However, it makes a lot more sense to focus your time on WordPress SEO, then a Theme SEO.. So that’s what we teach. I’d rather learn how to SEO the platform, permalinks and posts than the Theme.
That all being said, next version of Socrates will have many more SEO features.

Combining the bootcamp with the squeezepage and Socrates seems like a great product promotion. I would suggest adding Joel’s adsense and clickbank book PDF’s and the form software. Growing the BootCamp into Dan Nickerson’s I.M. 101 .
