How To Make Money Promoting My Blog

About a month ago one of my readers asked me if he could link to one of my blog posts, and at the same time embed his affiliate ID for my 22 Day IM Bootcamp.

I told him it could be done, and in fact, that’s how Newbie Report started.

It was a just link page (ala DrudgeReport) filled with valuable IM links and random Clickbank products.  Anyone could promote using their Clickbank ID and earn commissions if their referrals made a purchase.

Well today, my popular 22 Day Internet Marketing Bootcamp which I’ve been selling via PayPal, was approved by Clickbank.

And I decided to take this idea to the next level.

I now have 4 Clickbank products in the marketplace and I’m actually promoting 3 of them on this site right now.

I’ve set each outbound link for these products to a special redirect page, and I’ve included PHP code in my Wordpress header file that sets a Clickbank cookie.

What this means is that anyone with a Clickbank ID can link to any post on my blog, and potentially earn a commission on the sale of my products.

For example, if you wanted to link to my last post Simple Way To Protect A Download Page you would link to it like this;

http://www.newbiereport.com/simple-way-to-protect-a-download-page/?cb=YourClickbankID

If you wanted to link to the main page you would use:

http://www.newbiereport.com/?cb=YourClickbankID

Just replace YourClickbankID with your Clickbank ID.

This sets a cookie on my site and if any visitor buys one of my products, you’ll be the affiliate and earn a commission.

So next time you like one of my posts, you can Tweet it, or blog about it… and potentially make some money.

In fact, from now on.. whenever I review a Clickbank product, I’ll use the same setup.

Pretty cool, don’t you think?

Simple Way To Protect A Download Page

Have you ever wanted an easy way to password protect a download page or make an easy member site?

I’ve had a few people ask me how I’m protecting my Internet Marketing Bootcamp pages, so I thought I’d do a quick blog post on  it.

If you’ve taken my Bootcamp you know that each day for 22 days I send an email with a link to watch that day’s tutorial videos.

The email includes a username and password to access.

I didn’t want to create a fancy membership site for the bootcamp, I wanted to keep it simple.   So I used a PHP script that literally takes about 1 minute to setup.

The script is located at PHPBuddy.com

All you do is upload one file to the folder where you’re protecting the files, and then use a php include in the files you wish to protect.

The link above will tell you how to set it up, so no sense in me repeating it.

Yes, there are a lot of ways to protect pages with usernames and passwords, but I like this for its simplicity.    Obviously I’m not saying the code is hack proof, or that you use this code to protect anything really sensitive.

But if you need some simple and fast protection… it’s a good solution.
