The Internet Marketing Diet

I had kind of an interesting epiphany today about a correlation between success in Internet Marketing and getting healthy

Bear with me.. because honestly I’m just rambling here.

Don’t you think most people know some easy ways to lose weight and get healthy?

  • Drink Lots of Water
  • Exercise Daily
  • Stay Away from Junk Food
  • Make Healthy Choices

And most internet marketers know the easy ways to increase traffic and get wealthy.

  • Get Lots of Quality Backlinks
  • Create Quality Original Content Daily
  • Provide Value
  • Stay Away From Junk Programs and Schemes
  • Make Wealthy Choices

The problem that dieters and newbie internet marketers have is discipline and willpower.

You have to commit for the long haul or neither is really worth doing.  Stay away from short cuts and “sounds too good to be true” programs..

Just like dieting, with internet marketing you can’t expect long term results by only doing it a few weeks or trying to find the easy way…

It’s a lifestyle change you have to make in order to be successful.

Also, unrealistic expectations put the brakes on success. Just as you wrote about in another post, we should expect small rewards for our actions. A few hundred dollars gain, or a single pound loss, per week, is mammoth, if effort and growth occur week after week after week. As Richard Dreyfus said to Bill Murry, in the movie, “Where’s Dave?,” ……”baby steps.”

I think you’re so right with the long-term commitment unlike many ads you see all over the place and I’m glad to see a marketer speaking about health (without it, there’s not much possible)!
