New Domain Marketplace – FlipMySites.com

I flipped my first site in 1996. I sold it for $2,000 and I remember thinking that was a great business to get into at the time. But as other opportunities beckoned I didn’t pursue it.

I’ve bought and sold about a dozen sites since then, and the last few years have been toying again with the idea of doing more with site flipping.

After a conversation with Joel Comm we decided to launch our own marketplace: FlipMySites.com

  • I didn’t like paying success fees on domains sales so there are no success fees.
  • I didn’t like paying multiple upsells to get all kinds of extra features, so we only have one upsell for a featured listing.
  • I didn’t like waiting for auctions to end, so we have a simple classified system
  • And most of all, I wanted a process where I could post a site quickly for under $10 (or even free)

So that’s why I think you’ll like Flip My Sites.

If you’re looking to sell your site you can list it very quickly, and there may even be a special coupon offer on the site that lets you list it for free.

If you’re looking to buy sites, you can just fill out the simple contact form next to a listing to start communication with sellers.

Create Your Own Personal Knowledgebase

I’ve relaunched Pagellan.com as a new social network based on knowledge.  It allows users to create their own personal knowledgebases.

I came up with the idea by focusing on what I disliked about the big social networks…

  • Most of the content is trivial
  • There’s a ton of spam on most networks
  • Posts are not easily searched, tagged, or archived
  • There’s no affiliate program

So I began working on a program that addressed those issues.

It’s based on four very simple concepts.

Imagine if you could create your own personal knowledgebase that worked like Twitter and Facebook, but allowed you to categorize, tag and archive the things that you know and learn.”

Imagine if you could make that knowledge private or share it with the world, forever archived and tagged for easy access.”

Imagine a social network without self promotion, spam, useless banter… but solid, valuable, actionable content.”

Finally…

Imagine how many “tags” users will be creating to organize their content and the advertising potential of being able to sponsor those tag results pages for a low monthly rate.”

After a couple months in development.  Pagellan is now officially live and 100′s of users are already using it.

There’s also an affiliate program that pays 50% monthly recurring commissions on advertising sales.
